Okay, a bit of a gamer geek post today, and before anyone asks, no this isn’t referring to the Blizzard staff.

So i’m at my girlfriend’s this weekend, and due to her working for a few hours on Saturdays and Sundays, I decided I would bring my copy of World of Warcraft over to amuse myself in her absence. Being the “clever” boy that I am, I also brought my update patches on my 1gb USB Stick.

So I got there, and began installing it, only to find out it was going to take about 5 hours to install… Once it had installed, I went ahead and tried to install the patches.. But low and behold, non of them were compatable yet, as I needed to download the 2.1.0 update which is aprox. 500mb… So, on a 1mb connection, i began the download, which took 3 hours.

Once that was done, I installed all the patches. Ran the game, to find out… Another 500mb update was required… This one taking 4 hours.. (By the way, I wasn’t sat at the computer all this time!)

So I finally login to warcraft… For it to tell me, my account is authorized for Burning Crusade expansion (Since I activated a 10 day trial for it at home a few days ago) and that I would not be able to login to my account until the expansion had been downloaded (A further 2gb?!)…

So, in the end, I took out my 10 day free Guest Pass that was still in my box, unused, and made a new account. Rolled a female gnome mage (Girlfriend did it!) and that’s the end of the story…

Anyways, on another note, I’m going out for a meal with my girlfriend’s (pretty much entire) family today for a birthday, so that should be nice.

Will post more soon, hopefully it won’t be as whiny next time!
