Well I finally got round to doing what I had been promising myself for the past 3 months or so… I formatted both my 250gb hardrives and installed Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit edition onto my computer.

Hopefully I remembered to backup everything that I need… Although now the jobs done, i’m not sure if a mere 4 CD-R disks contains everything I wanted, but I guess it will have to, because there aint no turning back now!

I must say, i’ve used Windows Vista Ultimate before, but the 32bit edition, and 64bit does seem marginally faster. For example, I copied 28.7gb of files over from one drive to another, and it took about 15 - 20 minutes… Now, I know for a fact it took me longer than that to copy over something half that size on the 32bit edition, and on XP… Go make yourself some dinner, watch some tv then go to bed!

Not really tested games with Vista yet though (Other than the Sims 2), but that’s what I primarily use my computer for… So it should be interesting to see how it handles games like Oblivion and Dark Messiah of Might and Magic.

Well, I best get reinstalling software to my brand spanking new Vista installation. I can’t wait until it comes to installing World of Warcraft and WoW: The Burning Crusade…

Another 2gb of updates to download, here I come!
