Hey all,
As you may or may not be aware, I have grown tired of dealing with Microsoft’s pathetic excuse for an operating system and it’s cryptic error messages. Over the past few months I have been tormenting myself with the online Apple Store by looking at Macbooks – knowing that, as a Student financing myself from loans (Debt!), there is no way I could afford one at this moment in time.
The reason I want to make the switch is ultimately to have a more stable work environment for my future ventures – and one that will see me through from visionary student to successful entrepreneur. Something I cannot foresee Windows helping me to achieve, given it’s lack of willingness to function at the best of times!
So what I ask is this. Do I provide value to you in any way, shape or form? Be it with useful informational resources, humour, decent conversation, all of the above or more. If so, I would like to kindly ask if you could spare just $2 to my cause. I currently have almost 900 followers. If a little over half of those gave just $2 each, I would be at my target of $1000 (The price of a Macbook after Student Higher Education Discounts are applied).
If you wish to help me with this, and I would be eternally greatful if you did (!), please use the form below. You can also see others who have donated as well, so you will get your Twitter username published on this site as an added “feel good” bonus.
Thank you!
Get yourself a free copy of ubuntu and your system is as stable as it can get!
Hey Pieter, thanks for the comment.
I have tried Ubuntu actually, and I loved it!
But I found it just wasn’t anywhere near as easy to use as I had hoped. Which is what I am hoping to get from switching to Mac.
That and the ability to develop for the iPhone.
Lol, you might want to fix that:
Our goal: $1,000.00
we’re at: $10.00 50% paid
Back in the days, a Mac use to cost more than 20 bucks!
Nicolas.
Hi Sevrette. It means 50% of the $10 has been paid
I remember the day I finally switched over to the mac side, and while they products are nice, I wasn’t a big fan of the steeper prices, but at least there weren’t as many operating problems
Oh thats sad that you are moving away from Windows. You should try Windows 7, which is the most stable and best operating system by Microsoft ever. Ofcourse, use a good antivirus and antispyware and your PC will keep on running stable. Try Windows 7.
Hi Ismael,
I actually use Windows XP at work (For software development) and Windows 7 at home (For games). I prefer Mac OS X for casual browsing and web developing though.
The key comment you seem to have overlooked in your sentence was “most stable and best operating system by Microsoft”. By Microsoft, sure… But I would say Mac is far more stable and secure than any operating system Windows has released to date.
