Well some of you may be aware, if you follow me on Twitter that is, that I have recently released a new site called TDY.ME.
TDY.ME is a free URL shortening service that allows you to take a long URL and turn it into a nice and short (19 characters) one! Not only this, but TDY.ME allows you to track how many clicks your link has received and where those links came from (Great for affiliate links etc)! There are also plans to include Twitter integration in the near future.
For those of you who are interested in integrating a URL shortening service into your own web or desktop applications, look no further! TDY.ME has an easy to use API which can return data to your application in both JSON and XML formats.
For more information on the TDY.ME API, visit the API documentation at http://tdy.me/q4f9g.
If you wish to checkout this new service, visit it at http://tdy.me!

That’s cool, however, does it work if you want to get picked up and ranked by search engines? I believe some URL shortening tools make it harder to rank.
Hey Nancy, thanks for the comment. http://tdy.me links should not have any detrimental effect on your search engine rankings. I am not sure whether a redirect is considered a back link, but I would hazard a guess that it does not – so you probably won’t receive a boost either.
Your redirect appears to do a 301 redirect, which ought to mean that any benefit from a backlink on a site using the TDY.ME shortened URL should be passed on to the destination page.
302 redirects aren’t so good for that.
http://www.tdyme.com is a military hotel site?
